Steel - offered grades and assortment
Stainless steel
Martensitic steel is magnetic and has high strength properties. It is most often produced as stainless steel bars used in the petroleum, chemical and energy industries, which are used to make parts for pumps, turbines e.g.: pump shafts, bearings, valves or parts of measuring equipment.

Ferritic steel is called ferritic because it has ferrite in its structure, which is a solid solution of carbon in iron. It is ductile and contains minimal amounts of chromium to ensure 'stainlessness', and the low chromium content translates into a relatively low price compared to austenitic stainless steels. Ferritic steels are most commonly used by steel mills to produce stainless steel sheets, which are used in the automotive industry, e.g. for exhaust systems, in the white goods industry, e.g. for dishwashers, washing machines, cookers or cutlery, and in the construction industry, e.g. as wall panels or lift trims.

Austenitic steels contain much higher values of chromium and nickel in their composition, which translates into even higher corrosion resistance and an increase in yield strength during cold working. The higher grades also retain their corrosion resistance when in contact with aggressive chemical environments, which is why it is referred to as acid-resistant steel. On the other hand, it does not have the hardenability of martensitic steels. Austenitic steels are available in a much wider range of metallurgical products.
Metallurgic products made of austenitic stainless steel , also known as acid-resistant steel, are available in a much wider range of products. Both acid-resistant bars, acid-resistant sheets, acid-resistant pipes, acid-resistant profiles, stainless angles, stainless I-beams, sleeves or thick-walled stainless pipes and stainless flat bars are produced. Stainless-acid-resistant steel is used in many branches of industry: in the automotive industry, white goods, chemical industry, marine industry, and also in medicine, where tools are made from them, as well as implants, endoprostheses, bone screws, bone plates, etc.

Structural alloy steel
Commonly referred to as quality steel. In its chemical composition, in addition to carbon, there are many different elements known as alloying elements, whose content ranges from a few to several tens of per cent. Through their presence in the chemical composition, the steel acquires various strength properties, tensile, ductility, elasticity or increased hardenability, depending on the structural requirements. Quality steel is mainly used in the construction of machinery and equipment. Suitably selected steel grades are used to produce e.g. gears, shafts, bodies, pins, etc. Due to the very large number of qualitative steel grades, they have been divided into types based on their application and subjected to various thermo-chemical treatments such as softening, normalising, hardening, carburising, nitriding, etc.
Below is a breakdown of these and the range available.

Boiler steel
Also referred to as heat-resistant steel - steel designed for use at elevated temperatures, reaching up to 600 ºC. Incandescence is the ability to transfer mechanical stresses at high temperatures. Metallurgical products made from this steel alloy are resistant to so-called creep. The steel obtains these properties through the addition of appropriate chemical elements such as chromium, nickel, molybdenum or vanadium. Boiler steel is most often used in the power and chemical industries for the construction of pressurized and high-temperature installations and equipment.
Boiler sheets are used, among other things, for the construction of pressure vessels, steam boilers, various types of heaters and furnaces. They are produced in thicknesses from 1 mm to 300 mm and formats from 1000x2000 mm to 4000x16000 mm.
Boiler tubes used for the construction of pipelines for the transfer of hot medium, under high pressure, or the construction of heaters, coils in the installation of heat exchangers. They are available in diameters from Ø 10,2 to Ø 660 mm and wall thicknesses from 1,00 mm to 100 mm. Possible lengths from 4 to 13 meters.
Boiler rods are used in the construction of turbines, in the manufacture of bolts for the assembly of structures exposed to temperature. They are available in diameters from Ø 10 to Ø 250 and lengths of 3-6 meters. Diameters above Ø 250 mm we offer as forged rods, lengths then remain to be agreed, but a maximum of 8.5 m.
We also offer you sections like boiler I-beams, boiler channels, boiler angles, etc. used for the construction of supporting structures in industrial installations, on which pressure vessels or steam boilers are fixed.

Ferritic-austenitic steel
was developed in search of steel properties that have the characteristics of these two types of stainless steel, ferritic steel, i.e. good mechanical properties, and austenitic steel, i.e. high corrosion resistance. It is called DUPLEX steel because it combines the properties of two types of steel. With high resistance to intercrystalline, stress, corrosion and pitting corrosion, it exhibits very good strength properties, as well as abrasion and erosion resistance. It is increasingly used in the petrochemical, mining, shipbuilding and aerospace industries. Bolts, valves, pump shafts, agitators, etc. are made from this type of steel.

Tool steel
As its name implies, tool steel is intended for the production of tools for material processing and machining, such as drills, milling cutters, files, threading dies, knives, hammers, plastic injection moulds, etc. It is characterised by high hardness, high strength, and a very high quality. It is characterised by high hardness, abrasion resistance and low deformability. Depending on the working conditions, a distinction is made between cold work tool steel and hot work tool steel. Further subgroups are carbon tool steel and HSS high-speed tool steel. The latter is mainly used to make drills, saws or threading dies.

Wear-resistant steel
It’s a martensitic steel developed for the needs of heavy industry, such as mining, construction, etc. Thanks to its hardness, it is resistant to abrasion. Wear-resistant steels are used to manufacture, among other things, stone crushers, excavator buckets and blades, dump truck bodies, containers, hoppers, etc.
We mainly offer wear-resistant plates from several steelworks, each selling their products under their own proprietary names. There are several hardnesses: 400 HB, 450 HB, 500 HB, 550 HB, 600 HB, and the two most commonly used are shown in the table below. In addition, we also offer so-called Hadfield steel, designated with the X120Mn12 grade, which is characterised by the fact that it hardens further when exposed to mechanical influences. It is used to produce wear-resistant plates and bars, which are used, for example, in the construction of prison bars.

Structural steel – unalloyed
This is an alloy of iron with up to 0.22% carbon and other elements occurring more as impurities and not as a deliberate addition, but their content must not exceed the limits specified in the standards. Structural steel is divided into two groups, higher quality unalloyed steel and general purpose unalloyed steel. The higher quality steel is suitable for surface hardening, normalisation and quenching. It is used in the manufacture of parts for machinery and equipment not exposed to particular stresses. Rolled bars, drawn bars, cold-rolled sheets and hot-rolled sheets are available from high-grade unalloyed structural steel.
General-purpose non-alloyed structural steel is the simplest and cheapest steel to produce and is used wherever economics make it necessary. It is used in construction, heavy industry and transport. It is used in various types of steel structures, halls, bridges, platforms, masts, railway carriages, car body components, etc. It is available as rolled and drawn bars, hot-rolled sections, cold-formed sections, seamed and seamless tubes, heavy-walled tubes, cold-rolled thin sheets and hot-rolled heavy plates.
Below is a breakdown of these and the range available.
